A local firm has retained us to identify an experienced Accounting Manager to join their
leadership team.

As Accounting Manager, you will play an important role in planning and directing the

Supervisory Responsibilities
• Manages the staff who are responsible for billing, collections, and payroll. The
staff may be indirect or direct reports.
• Recruits and hires accounting staff and conducts performance evaluations for
direct reports.
• Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for
current staff.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Manage all internal accounting operations including preparation of the monthly
financial statements and account reconciliations.
• Perform timely month-end and year-end closings.
• Identify financial status by recommending metrics; analyzing results; monitoring
variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
• Track and update various reports.
• Monitor cash requirements and flow of cash transactions and prepare cash
projections as needed.
• Work with designated bank(s) for cash flow, credit and other operational needs
as directed by Treasurer or Firm Administrator.
• Assist with preparation of year-end tax work papers.
• Assist Managing Partner with budgets and forecasts.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state taxing authorities, including 1099
filings, sales tax returns and state registrations.
• Maintain systems and processes as well as financial records in accordance with
the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Develop, implement, and maintain all formal internal finance procedures,
processes, and administration, recommending improvements to the systems in
place and managing the systems going forward.
• Review all aspects of payroll.
• Assist with placement of firm’s insurance, including application preparation.
• Assist in special projects as necessary and other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• Minimum of 6-years of experience with financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting.

• Skilled in developing, reengineering, and recommending financial policies and
procedures.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative, anticipating and resolving problems.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
• High level of ethics, integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Superior technical expertise and business acumen.
• Strong decision-making skills and a willingness to adapt with changing priorities.
• Ability to work extended hours, as needed, to meet business needs.
• Proficient computer and software skills including Microsoft Office. Ability to learn new
software.
